2004 Ford Freestar - sudden explosion check engine light codes and loud banging but engine still runs roughly. What could have happened?

Of all the codes you have, P0304 is the most important. This engine code indicates a misfire in the #4 cylinder. Unfortunately, several factors could trigger this code, such as a faulty spark plug, ignition coil, fuel injector, or even carbon buildup inside the cylinder. A good starting point would be to replace the spark plug. It's likely that the other codes are triggered as a result of the cylinder misfire.
