My check engine light & engine coolant temperature light came on a couple days ago. I took it in to get an oil change & when they tested the computer, they got the code P1289. They said I needed to contact a Ford Dealership to have it looked at. I have been trying to contact all dealerships around me & they aren't good at returning calls. Is this a serious issue? What does this code mean & how do I fix it?

P1289 Cylinder temperature sensor (CHT) sensor circuit high

Cylinder high code are mostly disconnection code or the ,there a broken wire even at the terminal. if everything is intact  check the connection make sure it is plugged in.

you can replace it the disconnection can be internal of the sensor. but you need a special socket for the sensor
