why is it over heating now that I've replaced the head gasket

Just replaced the head gasket now it overheats fans work what's the deal wasn't overheating before hg replacement now doesn't matter if constant fan or not need help

There a ground  wire from the body to the valve cover if that wire is not there you can expect  a mysterious over heating condition. Besides that the thermostat  feel the upper radiator hose and the lower radiator hose during the warm up. if one exceed higher than the other the thermostat would be suspected.
