I have a 2007 Kia Spectra that has a check engine light on, ran a OBD II and got the following: P0447 & P0447  P; trying to search the code and found that there are a vast amount of possibilities ranging from purge valve to gas tank cap...how do I pinpoint exactly what could be the most likely. Trying to fix on own due to hefty prices of auto repair shops! Thanks for any info on this.

P0447 Canister Closing Valve  is open

You easily troubleshoot this by listening to the valve, When this goes bad you would hear a clicking noise that is constant at idle and at acceleration this is a indication that the CCV is stuck open, The CCV is the purge valve, this can also set a lean code condition.

 Here the valve completely removed,
