chevy bazer 4.3 no power 1998

Question

Does no accelerate has no power .we check axhaust back pressure.fuel pressure.distributor is line up has no code .just no power .we are a smog and repair shop. Dont know what else

No power, no short or arc at the ignition coil? The 4.3 engine when it has no power, crank position sensor to cam shaft position sensor should be measure the easy way is the use of a labscope, If not you will have to remove the harmonic balancer to check for a shifted CKP reluctor

​ Remove the harmonic balancer to check the CKP reluctor

​ With the harmonic balancer removed and the timing cover you can see te reluctor for the CKP here is is shifted from its locked position. This would cause a no power situation

​With the timing cover removed this reluctor is used for the CKP being shifted out of position is the cause for the no power, This is a common wear on high mileage engine.
