What does engine power reduced mean on 2010 chevy malibu

my son drives a 2010 chevy malibu and recently the engine light came on and it read engine power reduced service traction esc .. what does this mean?

P2138 Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor 1-2 correlation

When the APP see a difference between both its sensor it set P2138, which will set a command to the ECM to reduce power or limp mode.where the acceleration is limited. And anytime the CK ENG LT comes on the ABS and Traction are disabled, the reason is for safety. When the CK ENG LT comes on the vehicle is not at manufactuer specification. This code is most set due to high resistance of its connection,Chevy produced a TSB about water intrusion into its connection causing this code condition.
