I have a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder SE 3.5L and the P1145 came up. The mechanic suggested replace timing chain which is involved and expensive. Is this needed or should I have the sensor replaced which I had done a couple of years ago,

Have you replaced the oil in the last 4k miles? if not replace the oil and oil filter

Since the Intake valve timing control solenoid valve uses oil flow to control timing, dirty oil can cause the valve to stuck open or close. Before replacing the valve, change engine oil and filter and reset engine code.

you can remove the intake valve timing on bank 2 and clean it with brake cleaner only.

I would take it to a good rated mechanic on yelp
