P1391 Intermittent loss of CMP (camshaft sensor) or CKP (crank position sensor)

P1391 will not cause the starter to not operate, P1391 the engine will still start you can get this code condition with the engine running. This can be from a failing crank sensor or even a failing cam sensor. Check for the anti-theft if it is active, You can disarm the anti theft by normal vehicle entry by unlocking either door (driver or passengers front door) ,or the key remote transmitter. If there is still no start the starter will need to be check for proper function by direct method.
