Hello my friend has a 2007 Dodge Ram pickup with a 4.7 L engine. At first it had a check engine code p0344 and P0340 I helped him replace the cam sensor and it got rid of the p0344 code but still has the P0340 code. He then bought a new battery for it then we replace the crank shaft position sensor but the P0340 code remains. Now as far as symptoms the truck cranks for about 5 seconds before it starts and will not rev up over 2500 rpm either parked or while driving. By the way the crank sensor is very difficult to remove and the screw method does work LOL.

Vehicle: 2007, dodge ram, 4.7l

HI there

This could indicate the mechanical timing is off. If the timing chain has jumped time or if the chain has stretched this code will appear and it won't clear.
