I have a check engine light on my 98 ranger. 4cyl
OBD codes PO135, and 453.
Have not diagnosed or pinpointed what the root issue is.

Other than that, I have a significant loss of engine power, which goes away when I disconnect my MAF sensor. (I have removed and cleaned the MAF sensor) but still notice a difference when it is connected.

I hear a small rattle/buzz noise intermittently but most often with changes in throttle. Sounds like it is coming from behind the cab, (exhaust?)

I installed new air filter, plugs and wires today. This was all going on before.

Vehicle: 1998, Ford Ranger 2.5L 4Cyl

P0453 Evaporative emission control system pressure sensor too high (FTP) fuel tank pressure sensor

P0135 -02 sensor heater circuit malfunction

P0453 is the fuel tank pressure sensor high meaning open connection.or being non operational, this is located on the fuel tank. P0135 when it is a heater circuit for the 02 sensor it is more likley the 02 sensor, If you suspect that you may have a plugged exhaust system use a vacuum gauge to check for excessve back pressure,
