I have a PO135 code. Could this be as a result of the thermostat being removed.

Vehicle: 1998 Ford Ranger 2.5L

P0135 H02S heater circuit malfunction Bank 1 Sensor 1

Removing the thermostat can play a role in P0135. If this was a Toyota engine.For a Ford the ECM see a open or shorted circuit for the 02 sensor.
