1999 Ford Contour 2.5L with code P0453

Question

I have a 1999 Ford Contour 2.5 and Its throwing a code p0453 Im trying to find out exactly where it is under the hood or beneath the car so I can fix the problem. the car runs fine no problems of stalling or anything we just need to get the light out for it to be inspected

Hi there,

This code is for the fuel tank pressure sensor. This is mounted in the top of the fuel tank. Normally this code can be brought up by another faulty part not working. The sensor is used by the computer to check for leaks in the evap system. If not pressure can build because of leaks, then the code will be triggered. A common cause is the vent control valve.
