P0510 MITSUBISHI - how do i fix it. car hesitates when acc. from stop

I was wondering if it is the TPS that is bad. I do not know where or what the accelerator pedal switch is. When you stop at an intersection etc. The car will hesitate and stutter for a second. When you get up to speed it is like it has a misfire situation going on. The check engine light is on. When the car was scanned it only gave this one code.

Vehicle: 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage 1.8
