2002 lancer es with possibly a 1999 year head. I had the head replaced bout 3 years ago and I'm getting the p0340 code. My car is bogging out. I tried 2 different cam sensors new and I had a no start issue. Would there be anything else to try. I used test light to check continuity and I'm get the outer sides on the harness to light w a test light. And when I put the old sensor back in it runs but poorly intermittently.  So i don't think it's a timing issue.

P0340 Camshaft position sensor

Your going to have to check the timing belt alignment marks , Having a hard time starting would set a P0340. The basic has to be checked
