Will your car star if the oil pressure censor is out.

I have a Chevy impala and code reads p0520. Is this why my car won't start

It will not on a Chevy. They set this up so you can't damage the engine with low oil. So if the sensor is bad or if you have no oil in it, or low oil pressure it will not start.
