I have had the code checked twice.  Each time the codecame up in Mercedes 2012, 250C with only 70,000 miles. given two estimates, 1st 600-800  dollars. 2nd estimate 1200 dollars.  I'm not sure that either of the shops are exactly sure what is going on because both told me to drive andsee if code comes back up. each time, I drove about 4 miles and then light came back on when I started the car.  Could this be a weak battery..  I did notice that the first time the light came on I tried to start the car and had to turn the ignition o a second time befor it started up ad about two minutes  later the engine light came on.  Does Mercedes have a problem with diagnosing the engine light?

When it comes to a MBZ vehicle, and a code is gathered , it is important that that it is MBZ compatible, The  "P0" code that start with this letter and number is called generic. Generic codes are mandated codes, which are used to inform the driver/owner .  A P0340 code that is set on a MBZ with a hard to start will also have other code set with it. Here what happening on your vehicle if there a estimate of a lot of money, Your MBZ has a well known timing chain issue, when you start the engine and you hear a rattle at start up, you have timing chain problem, this is where the camshaft code comes up plausible.
