How do we fix this code on our 1997 Mercury Mountaineer
Vehicle: 1997 Mercury Mountain 5.0

Hi there

This code indicates there is a problem with the egr valve being stuck open. This could be the egr itself or the egr solenoid that opens vacuum to the egr causing it to stick open. These need to be tested to determine which is the cause.
