Will not speed on reverse

I have this Lexus rx300 and anytime I shift to drive it will drive perfectly and if I shit the gear to reverse it will move but if I step on the gas to speed the reverse. The gas will not change the speed of the reverse, the mechanic already take 1500 for transmission but did not work
