Can changing the oil filter housing cause code P0597 and P0302?

Question

I had the Oil Filter Housing Gasket and the Windshield wiper pump replaced. The Service Engine Soon indicator illuminates every time I press on the gas pedal. There is engine power hesitation every time. There is no engine light illuminated. Never had engine problems before having the oil filter housing work done. I went to an auto parts store a minor diagnostic check done and the codes P0597 and P0302 were given.

P0597 thermostat heater control circuit open

P0302 misfire number 2 cylinder

The thermostat code is a disconnection of that sensor, but would not set the misfire code, if there  was a problem with the oil filter housing it would set a vanes code and would have a hesitation, if the thermostat heater circuit is disconnected have it reconnected , ignition coil faults are famous for misfire condition for the BMW.
