How to Change the TFT sensor on a 2005 ford freestyle?

My 2005 Ford Freestyle throws out a p0711 code and to fix that I need to change my Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor. just how exactly can I do that?

HI there,

This really isn't a difficult job. You do have to remove the transmission pan, but the temp sensor is right there, bolted to the valve body on the transmission. It's as simple as unplugging the electrical connector, then putting the new one in. You will need a new pan gasket and transmission fluid to do it.
