What will happen, long term, if this is not fixed ASAP?

Daughter drives this van. She just started working and is low on funds. Since this is a TSB, will Ford take care of it or will she have to pay? How long is too long to get it done?

P1744 Excessive slip detected

This code condition when it is detected with the transmission , there are so many variable that would cause this condition, it cost effective to replace the transmission or rebuild
