Is it harmful to the vehicle to drive it when scanner bank 1 is shown on scanner as the problem?

The  purpose of the CK ENG LT is to protect the catalytic convertor and the catalytic convertor protects the environment from harmful emission produced by the vehicle. Also when the CK ENG LT comes on you are using more fuel than necessary so the vehicle is not in fuel control. If Hawaii has a emission test in order to receive your registration, you will fail the emission test. In the long run you can harm the catalytic convertor.
