I replaced a cam position sensor bank 2 and changed my oil myself with 5w-30 mobil 1 and cleared the code. the SES popped back up after about an hour and a half of actual driving with a 2 hr stop in between. oil is clean and full, no leaks and the car runs like a top with no starting, stalling or horsepower issues.

what is the step by step procedure to remove this intake valve/ timing control sensor?

can it be removed and cleaned or checked before I purchase a new one?

P0021 IVT control

This code condition is for the IVT for Bank 2, yes you can clean it out before you replace the, one of the possible causes to set this code is an accumulation of debris to the signal portion of the camshaft, which would be very rare if this was the case.

Remove the connection, remove the bolt that secures the camshaft actuator solenoid, (10 mm), and pull out carefully, Reverse to install
