How do I fix this issue on my 1998 Saturn SL1? the engine light comes on then goes off. And sometimes doesn't shift right

Hi there,

This code is a result of the transmission range sensor not working properly. This is the neutral safety switch on this transmission and is mounted under the shift cable on the transmission. This part failing can result in odd shifting patterns.
