how to fix a P0174 code on a 2001 ford explorer sport trac 4.0 6 cyn

2001 ford explorer sport trac 6cyn 4.0I have a P0174 code coming up when I have my check engine light on. I have already put new spark plugs and wires on. I was told it could also be the pcv valve but have not been able to find it and then was told from a mechanic that I do not have on. could you please help. could it also be a simple as the gas cap? tks

HI there,

This code is for a lean fuel mixture on bank 2. Most of the time when the code is on a single bank of the engine it's caused by the front O2 sensor on that bank. You also need to check for intake manifold gasket leaks and possible issues with exhaust leaks. If the exhaust manifold is leaking then it could cause this code to come up.
