I HAD ADVANCED AUTO PART TECH SCAN THE ENGINE, PRESSURED GAS CAP JUST NEEDED TO BE CLOSED TIGHTLY HOWEVER P1000 CODE NOT SURE AND IS THAT SOMETHING I NEED FURTHER TO DO? LIKE HAVE IT LOOKED AT, I HAVE ALREADY SAVED $100'S AND WOULD LIKE TO EVEN SAVE MORE IF POSSIBLE.....CAN YOUGO INTO MORE DETAILS ABOUT THAT P1000

There isn't much detail about this specific code. What it looks like to me is there was a code prior, and this code was cleared. Once the light is cleared, the car should be running self tests. It will do this but, they are all based on different drive cycles. As you drive the car, different monitors run and do the self tests.

This code should not turn the check engine light on. There had to have been another code at some point in the system if the light was on. If the light was on when you took the car, there was another code.

This is likely what you keep refering to as the gas cap being tight. Probably tightened the cap and cleared the code. This would generate the P1000 code.
