p0488 code and surging when first start.

Question

The engine surges until the accelerator is pushed, then evens out. Also hard to fill with fuel as it seems that air can not escape as fuel is dispensed.

Hi there,

The P0448 code is for the vent control valve. This would cause the slow fill issue you are having but is not normally responsible for the engine surging. This may be a misfire or you may need to do a relearn on the throttle body. I have also seen a bad mass air flow sensor cause this type of issue.
