some diagnostic mechanic said it meant it was that the engine oil was thin. oil was charged and air filter. but the check light is still on

This code has nothing at all too do with the engine oil. This code means the engine fuel mixture is to lean. This can be caused by several different things, First, a bad mass air flow sensor, bad front O2 sensor, bad rear O2 sensor or low fuel pressure can all cause the problem. These all eed to be properly checked to determine the cause of the lean fuel mix.
