P0581 is shown when hooked up to tester. what is it?

My 2088 Ford Focus SE is throwing this code P0581. My car also made a grinding noise when excellerating, the noise winded down as I let off gas pedal. What does this mean and how do I look for the problem?

The code is for a problem with the cruise control. As for the sound I would check the pulleys on the engine or if the car actually has to be moving to hear the sound, I would check the wheel bearings.
