Will IAT sensor cause rough idle it also reads high-voltage when hooked to OBD scanner

Question

Will a bad IAT sensor  cause the car to idle rough and low because the car has been idling low and rough when in park and check engine light came on and gave code for IAT  sensor

Hi there,

This can cause a rough idle, but also cause issues with acceleration. The computer uses the air temp to help control the fuel mixture, so if it's reading wrong or sending the wrong voltage signal, the computers mixture can be off leading to these types of problems. Usually it's the sensor that fails more often then the wiring.
