P0851 - 2005 Subaru Baja

This is happening on a non turbo, 5 speed model intermittently. Is there something called an inhibiter switch on this car?

Hi there,

On the manual transmission there is a part called the neutral position switch that will cause this code if not working properly. This is located in the rear driver side of the transmission. Usually they get sticky over time and stop working properly.
