2004 civic check engine light came on 2 codes p0340 and p0344 when rpm hits 3500 it triggers rev limiter?

Both codes are for the cam position sensor. It's losing signal, this will cause the symptoms you are seeing as well as can also cause the car to shut down. I would start by replacing the sensor. It's also possible the engine is out of time.
