Question

2001 Ford Explorer Sport track codes P0455, P 0457, in November, now code p1633 after battery was completely dead last week. Check Engine light on. Mechanic said he can not remove the light and it could be engine computer problem. Last November run a smoke test and said the problem was the evap. vacuum management valve was inoperative, but charge to much to fix it and budget to fix it was used to pay for check up and smoke test. It does not affect running but the smog inspection test can not be passed. Mechanic that said it is not a smog but computer problem said even it is not a smog problem it will not pass inspection with the light on due to computer faulty. I don't know what to believe and in what direction go.
