Question

I got the engine codes P0017 and P0300 on my 2007 Mercedes Benz C230 M727, what is the problem?

P0017 Constant adjustment of right cylinder camshaft Bank 1 is direction of advance

P0300 Random misfire

This is a mechanical condition with the camshaft gear for both side of the Banks , what happens is that the camsaft for the exhaust is not properly closing due to the camshaft gear being delayed in closing this is what set the random misfire condition , the fix is to replace the camshaft gears  and cam gear bolts, with a timing chain tensioner,
