So about two weeks ago the pipe between the resonator and the muffler rusted off, so I tied it up to prevent it from hitting the ground till I could get it fixed. Yesterday the check engine light came on and it's displaying P0400 code. I understand that means exhaust gas recirculation flow malfunction indicating something may be plugged up but could it just be from the pipe hanging off and maybe not getting the proper ventilation?

Hi there,

Sorry to say this is not the problem. On these however we do see the vacuum line from the bpt valve to the egr burn off. Check and make sure you are still connected, if not, get a new piece of vacuum line to resolve the issue.
