We have an error code of P2197 on a 2003 Ford Escape that has been worked on and recently put back together. Can you tell us what that means?

P2197 Upstream H02S not switching

This mean the 02 sensor is not switching from lean to rich condition. The likely cause is a vacuum leak, especially at the intake area.

Here is 2 02 sensor which came from a Ford with a P2197 and a P0420, these code condition occured after a head gasket was replaced, the problem was solved by replacing the 02 sensor, but before replacing the 02 sensor vacuum leaks especially at the intake area was check and with its PCV
