P0842 - what is the problrm do i have to change tha hole transmission?

I need help i got this car and it has the code P0842 but i dondt have troble with the transmission what should i do i went with a mechanic and he told that he has to replace the hole transmission but thats really expenssive

P0842 Primary oil pressure sensor circuit low

The 1.8 does not use this code , the 2.0 uses this code and it is for a CVT transmission,the problem is with the transmission solenoid pressure switch assembly. which is part of the valve body, or the TCM (tansmission control module) , Alot of fixes for P0842 was for the primary pressure sensor which is the valve body, It almost reasonable to do the whole transmission than  just to replace the valve body,
