When I start my car the ignition takes longer than usual and the transmission is stuck on 5th gear?

The problem is that the tranny gets stuck in 5th gear and won't come out.When I turn the car off and wait and then turn it back on it will work and shift fine if the engine doesn't take so long to start when I turn the ignition. Only happens when the ignition takes longer than usual to turn.

If you have not replace the transmission fluid in the last 30k miles you might want to try to replace it first.

if you have done any engine work near the engine bay, you should check the work again. I have seen a intake tube hitting the shift levers
