why does this code affect the engine even in park when you apply the gas pedal engine has no power till it gets to around 3000 rpm but it does idle good

P1747 Eletronic pressure control (EPC) solenoid solenod A short circuit

This is a transmission code. Without a functioning EPC the vehicle will have no power as it accelerates,you can end up hurting the transmission further if this is not resolved, The EPC is located in the transmission at the valve body, the transmision pan will have to be removed to access the solenoid.
