Question

After we changed the battery the check engine turned on and we got code P0700, what is this for?

This code basically means there is a code stored in the transmission computer. What I would do here is if the car is running and shifting normally clear the code and drive the car. If it's not, then you are going to need a scan tool that is capable of checking the trans module.
