can a bad head gasket/ head throw a cylinder1 misfire code?

Question

car driven by teenager! long distance trip without checking fluids. car overheated, she pulled over and shut off to cool and check radiator and overflow. filled, car would no longer start. makes noise like it wants to turn over but never a complete turn over, like there is a compression issue. throws DTC P0301 cylinder 1 misfire.... could this code come up on a bad head/ gasket?

Yes it can here is a headgasket that had a misfire code it had misfire number 6 with a no start.
