I have a 2005 PT Cruiser that was running fine until my daughter had to slam on her breaks real hard. Since then, the service engine soon light came and back off. when the light is on, it runs real rough and almost no acceleration until the light goes off and it runs fine then. my OBD II is giving the code of P0344. Can you tell me what I should start off with checking/replacing first to fix this problem?

Hi there,

I would start by checking the timing belt. It may have jumped when she had to stop so fast. This will cause the cam sensor code to appear and would explain the engine running so poorly.
