What does transmission component slipping mean?

Transmission shifts hard in all of the gears. But not all of the time

Transmission hard shift ,  Transmission fluid level and the condition of the transmission  fluid needs to be check when a transmission componenet is slipping it is mostly caused by debris plugging the transmission orifices especially in its shift valves.. This condition neglected can lead to transmission overheating and eventually a transmission failure.Check the transmission fluid condition and service if necessary.
