safe to drive 2003 Nissan maxima with check engine light P0021

Hi,

I have 2003 Nissan Maxima SE.
Yesterday my car was showing "Service Engine soon" light.The code was detected was P0021.
For how many miles I can drive the car?

your oil is probably dirty or low if the problem is with the Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid. 

driving the car might be a risk if your oil is low. If you have not replaced it in the 3,500 miles replace the oil. 

 

Possible causes

- Faulty Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid Valve

- Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid Valve harness is open or shorted

- Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid Valve circuit poor electrical connection

- Faulty Camshaft Position Sensor

- Camshaft Position Sensor harness is open or shorted

- Camshaft Position Sensor circuit poor electrical connection

- Faulty Crankshaft Position Sensor (POS)
