Could P0420 and P0171 be tied to a o2 sensor

really quite currious because i had this problem for awhile now..

You can try to replace the oxygen sensor on bank 1 sensor 1, it is on the exhaust manifold first and see if that fixes the problem if not the catalytic converter may also need to be replaced if there is no other problems with the car.
