How is an issue with P0758 Shift Solenoid Valve resolved

Question

My Toyota Rav4 (2001) has developed an issue .The report indicated that it has an issue with P0758 Shift Solenoid Valve No:2 Circuit

What is the most effective and efficient way to resolve this totally?

I have had a variety of feedback:-

Replace the entire Gear Box so that I do not mess with the engine - at the very worst a good second hand one should do as well if I can not go for a new one

P0758 Shift solenoid "B" electrical

What you have is a software issue, if the shift solenoid test good, a replacement of the gear box will not resolve the issue, the ECM needs to be replaced and a updated software installed, Here is a TSB # SB0156-10R1
