I bought a project car for my daughter. I was told that the problem with it not running was the throttle body. It turns out that it was fried. I had it rebuilt by a reputable place. Found out the downstream O2 sensor had the wiring hanging on the ground and it was mangled. Replaced that. Cleared all codes except P2138. Tried reprogramming the throttle body per the instructions by taking off battery for 30 minutes then putting the key forward to reprogram the throttle body. Nothing. I even tried preplacing the throttle pedal position sensor and got nothing.
P2138 Throttle pedal position sensor / switch "D" /"E" voltage correlation
P2138 should not be the cause of a no start, Take out air duct to the throttle body, (Key on engine off) step on the accelerator pedal, you should see the throttle open as you depress the APP., Test pin 1 , (KOEO) voltage should be about 0.4 volts, as you push down the APP the voltage should increase to 2.2 volts.Test pin 2 KOEO (key on engine off) voltage should be about 0.75 volts ,ass the APP is is depressed voltage should increase to 4.2-4.9 volts.1=ECM (+5VDC) APP1, 2=ECM (+5VDC) APP2. 3=ECM (-) APS2 4=APS 2 signal, 5= ECM (-) APS1 . 6= APS 1 signal
