shift solenoid c malfunction 98 sebring

Question

after a recent brake job on front, pads and rotors... front brakes locked up and wife drove it about a 1/4 mile home with brake pads hot and smoking.. Check engine light came on. When I got home to check it I found a code for shift solenoid C malfunction and tranny in limp mode.. Where should I start ? Dropped Tranny pan, no metal no burnt fluid smell, fluid looked good. Replaced trans filter and fluid.. Vehicle only has 110,000 miles on it..
