Can you tell me how to trouble shoot an idling/acceleration issue?

I have a 2005 PT Cruiser Limited addition non Turbo and I am having issues related to my engine and/ or intake manifold. Actually, I don't have any idea what it is, Can you shed some light on this for me? I read my Diagnostic Codes and received error code P2079 and another one, too.?

P2079 IMT valve stuck closed

The PT cruiser does not have a IMT valve can you recheck the code, There is a P2074 which is Manifold pressure/throttle position -high flow / vacuum leak. If you have P2074 this will affect the idle condition and the acceleration what you need to have done is find and resolve any vacuum leaks. Vacuum leaks can be from vacuum hose disconnected to cracks in the intake manifold. Vacuum leaks affect the MAP (manifold air pressure) , which affects the idle quality and acceleration
