1995 Nissan SentraODBII code P0236, what does this mean?

Question

car will turn over, and sometimes sputter, won't sustain fire, won't start.
ODBII codes P1401 and P0236
not sure which is causing the malfunction, or if either of them is.
any assistance is appreciated.

Please double check the codes there is no information in the factory service manual for the P0236.

The P1401 is for the EGR temperature sensor, but a faulty sensor will not caused the no start situation. Check if there is fuel pressure and spark.
